About

Dr. Ali Nasser earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where he was awarded the prestigious Eva Bartlett Estate Scholarship in recognition of his academic excellence and potential.

Dr. Ali Nasser holds the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) Physiotherapy (PHT) certification, an elective specialty credential that demonstrates advanced proficiency in adjunctive therapeutic procedures commonly used in chiropractic and rehabilitative care. The NBCE Physiotherapy examination covers evidence-based applications of passive modalities (such as therapeutic electrophysical agents, cryotherapy, thermotherapy, electrotherapy, and light/laser therapy) and active interventions (including therapeutic exercise, functional assessment, rehabilitation techniques, and soft-tissue manual methods).* This certification enhances Dr. Nasser’s ability to integrate safe, effective physical therapy modalities into his holistic practice, particularly for patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, or rehabilitation needs.

Dr. Ali Nasser has extensive experience directing physical therapy and multidisciplinary clinics dedicated to rehabilitating the most challenging and complex physical injuries. His practice focuses on comprehensive, integrative care for patients recovering from complex sports injuries, or complex injuries from motor vehicle accidents. In some cases, these musculoskeletal injuries involve concurrent traumatic brain injury (TBI). Dr. Nasser has led collaborative teams to deliver coordinated treatment that optimizes functional recovery, manages chronic pain, promotes neuroplasticity, and supports long-term wellness for patients with high-complexity cases. This work builds on his pioneering contributions to integrated healthcare models and his commitment to serving diverse patient populations.

For example, early in his career, Dr. Nasser completed an internship at St. Michael’s Hospital (Wellesley Central Site) in Toronto, where he focused on comprehensive patient care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, gaining valuable experience in managing complex and vulnerable cases.

He went on to pioneer an innovative joint MD/DC practice model in Vancouver, integrating medical and chiropractic delivery of holistic, patient-centered care. His groundbreaking work in this collaborative model earned commendation from medical doctors and was highlighted in the Canadian Medical Journal (or related professional publications), underscoring his contributions to interdisciplinary healthcare.

Committed to community service, Dr. Nasser founded and operated the DERA Clinic in Vancouver, providing essential chiropractic and health services to economically disadvantaged individuals and underserved populations. He has also volunteered his time in Latin American clinics where no patient care was previously available.

Dr. Nasser has also pursued advanced training in acupuncture, completing certification in Toronto to incorporate this complementary modality into his practice for enhanced pain management and wellness outcomes.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Biopsychology from a Canadian university, where he achieved Dean’s List honors for outstanding academic performance.

Today, Dr. Nasser is passionate about helping patients with high-complexity cases, drawing on his extensive background to offer integrative, evidence-informed solutions that address both acute and chronic health challenges with compassion and expertise.
